Fuel Transport is expanding rapidly and looking for a Compliance Specialist for our office located in Lasalle, Quebec. The person selected will be responsible of the carrier compliance process which includes, without limitation, analyzing and verifying carrier applications, entering carrier information in the database, making recommendations to various departments, updating the carrier database, supporting and providing information to various departments.

Detailed Description
  • Responsible for carrier onboarding process in compliance with the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Verify, among others, carrier’s service history, credit history, certifications, insurance coverage.
  • Assess risks and make recommendations to immediate supervisor and/or operations managers following carrier verification process.
  • Ensure that contracts are received and information contained in the database is complete and accurate.
  • Build and maintain a preferred carrier list to better answer the logistic operation’s needs.
  • Work closely with the accounting department, more specifically the accounts payable and the billings departments to maintain the company’s database.
  • Monitor and review carrier performance and make recommendations, as applicable.
  • Monitor regulatory activities and industry developments to develop a working knowledge of federal, state, local and provincial transportation regulations, permitting requirements and all record-keeping and reporting.
  • Other duties and assignments as required.
Skills & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree or collegial level with 1 to 3 years in an administrative support role.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management and/or logistics industry is an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word (intermediate level).
  • Knowledge of transportation management software i.e. TMW is a definite asset.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English and French, verbal and written.
  • Detail-oriented, customer service oriented, multitask and highly organized.
  • Ability to work with strict deadlines and to maintain confidentiality.
